A booking with Golden Moon Adventures (GMA) has to be confirmed within fifteen (15) days with a 30% non-refundable deposit. The full balance is due 30 days before departure. If the full amount is not paid as stipulated, GMA will regard the booking as cancelled. Any person making a booking for himself or on behalf of other persons will be liable for all costs. Bank details will be sent to you when making a booking.
In case of a cancellation after the booking has been confirmed you will forfeit your deposit. If a booking is cancelled less than 30 days prior to departure a cancellation fee will be made as follows:
Less than 30 days notice – 50% of total cost.
Less than 15 days notice – 75% of total cost.
If you fail to join a safari or join after departure, or leave it prior to completion, no refund will be made. In the event of GMA cancelling a safari, which it shall be entitled to do at any time before the scheduled departure, the full amount will be refunded to the customer.
It is compulsory for clients to arrange travel insurance in your country of origin. You should be covered in the event of cancellation, curtailment, medical costs or emergency rescue, loss of baggage, money or personal items.
The price includes everything as stipulated on the itinerary of the specific safari/tour/camp/hike/venture. Due to exchange rate fluctuations, weather, government decree or factors out of our control, we reserve the right to surcharge or alter itineraries as close to the original as is possible. The price excludes alcohol, soft drinks, snacks en-route, personal insurance, laundry, personal items, telephone charges, curios, travel expenses and activities not stipulated in your itinerary.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that passport, visas, re-entry visas and health documents – as required – are valid prior to the commencement of your safari.
Malaria occurs in Southern Africa and we advise you to consult your doctor prior to departure for the appropriate anti-malaria prophylactics. In general tap water is safe for drinking or bottled water can be purchased en route.
Golden Moon Adventures nor any person acting for, through or on behalf of GMA shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from any cause whatsoever and without restricting the generality of the a foregoing shall particularly not be responsible for loss or damage arising from any errors or omissions contained in its brochure or other literature, late or non-confirmation or acceptance of bookings, loss or damage caused by delays or irregularity of defect in any vehicle, sickness, weather, accident, strike, war, quarantine, inconvenience, or other causes from time of departure to time of return.
Pack light, rugged type clothing, shorts, comfortable flat shoes, warm sweaters, tracksuit, depending on the time of year you will be advised accordingly, sunburn lotion, comfortable hat, insect repellent, sunglasses, camera, binoculars, torch, toiletries, wash cloth and towel. If on medical treatment bring sufficient treatment (please notify GMA beforehand), sleeping bag and thin sleeping mats – if not provided by GMA. On luxury tented safaris GMA provide comfortable beds and bedding. Baggage will be limited to one large bag and one smaller handbag/camera bag per person. Your specific programme will indicate what equipment we provide and what you have to provide (self-drive safaris). On full catering safaris with GMA, all equipment is provided. On receipt of your deposit we will send you a complete check list for your safari. Personal spending (pocket) money, will depend on the length of your safari/camp/hike, the specific conditions of each programme and your personal needs. Money is needed for specified restaurant meals, alcohol, soft drinks, curios, telephone, laundry, tips, visas, airport taxes, additional excursions/transfers or activities not included in the price.
